4 Chair Exercises

The use of a balance ball office chair is a great idea for lots of reasons. The first is that it will improve your posture whilst sitting on the chair and will also help to tighten up your core muscles. The next reason is that when you have a spare 5 minutes on a break or in your lunch hour, you can take the ball off the base and use it to do some more exercises. So you’re really getting lots of benefits from the one product.

Here are some balance ball office chair exercises you can do when you have 5 minutes spare:

Use it as a normal chair. The most basic of exercise is to simply use it as a normal office chair. You will be engaging your core muscles whilst balancing on the chair, so this works great at strengthening the abs and core without even realizing it.

Sit ups. Lie so that your back is on the ball and you are looking up at the ceiling. Then pull your upper body up to perform a regular situp. This works well because you are balancing and will use more muscles than just doing a regular pushup on the floor.

Ball walking. Lie on the ball so that your stomach is touching it and you are looking at the floor. Then walk your hands forward so that the ball ends up touching your lower legs. Then go back so that the ball is touching your mid-section. Do this several times as it helps to strengthen the core.

Pushups. Lie on the ball and walk forward so that your feet are on top of it. Then lower yourself down to perform a pushup. Repeat this as many times as you can.
